Turtle Trilogy

Turtles are among one of my favourite animals to draw. This three-piece artwork shows turtles swimming, highlighting their importance as totem animals for many coastal tribes in Papua New Guinea. Turtles symbolise wisdom, endurance, and a deep bond with the sea. The three turtles together represent balance and harmony in nature and community. The blue background reflects the vast ocean, adding depth and calm to the scene. It also emphasises the turtles' journey and their role in PNG's coastal traditions. They are often known as a symbol of longevity and grace. There are cowrie shells collected in PNG used in this piece as well, a piece of home comes with it wherever you take it.
